What are all the things we’ll need if we’re going to have a baby?
Well, I’m not the one who’s pregnant – my sister is. She’s 23. I’m doing my best to help plan out everything the baby will need; so we can get it all ahead of time. I’m pretty sure I have everything, but if I’m missing something please tell me! Here’s what I have so far:

Car seat
Stroller
Crib
Mobile
Bottles/Formula/Bottle sterilizer
Pacifiers
Blankets/Sheets/Knitted blanket/Receiving blankets, etc.
Baby Bath/Shampoo/Towels/Washcloths/Comb
Diapers/Ointment/Powder/Wipes/Changing pad

Bouncy seat
Clothes/Pajamas/Booties
Bassinet

Possibly a Rocking Chair.

Can you think of anything else? Thanks. :)

What should I do with an injured, wild baby rabbit?
My dog grabbed a baby rabbit after my cat chased it under our fence to the back yard. He didn’t try to kill it, but he accidentally broke its left back leg while grabbing it. We put it in a box with a small saucer of water, a nest made of some washcloths, a small stuffed animal and some rabbit pellets that the feed store gave me when I asked them what to feed it. We put a light sweater over the top of the box to keep it from hopping out.
It’s hopping around and trying to get away from us when we try to give it more water and stuff, so it’s not really in shock or traumatized or anything. I was wondering if I should put it outside in the garden later tonight so its mama can find it or it can find its way home or something?
What should I do with it?

What is your baby….?
- eating
- doing
- playing with/in
- sleeping in
- bathing in?

My daughter is eating rice cereal & baby food purees as well as her formula still, when she gets a little older we are going to try meat purees ( from jar ) and juice as well.
( and please, I don’t need a lecture how to feed or when to feed my daughter, she is eating due to Dr’s orders and she is doing just fine & healthy. )

She is just starting to learn how to pull herself up with furniture & bigger toys, and she is also learning how to hold her bottle herself too! I think she’s in the really early stages of teething because she gets a little irritable sometimes until you rub her gums or give her a cool facecloth/teething toy.

She is playing with stuffed animals and teething rings a lot lately, and she plays with washcloths ( soaked in cool water. ) & her frog ( he is attached to her crib & makes music, has flashing lights and assorted things she can touch on it. ) & she loves her rubber duck in the tub.

She is sleeping in her crib, she has since 3 months but before that she was in a bassinet.

She has baths with me sometimes depending on how much time we have or if I am pressed for time she will have a bath in her own little tub.

Share about your LO!
& what are you up to today? ( i’m bored and my babe’s sleeping STILL! LOL )

I’m waiting for my LO to wake up & have breakfast and for my mom to get here. I think were going shopping today which would be nice because I only get out once a week for grocery shopping.

Baby fussier and may be teething at 3 months?
My baby will be turning 3 months old in a couple of days and he is fussier than ever. He has been fussy since day one but he improved over the past two weeks up until a couple of days ago and he is worse than before. I’m pretty sure he is teething as he chews on anything he can get his hands on. I rub his gums to give him some pain relief and it seems to work for awhile but not for to long. Teething rings are to big to fit in his mouth and the stuffed animals with rubbers hands and feet seem to hurt him when he bites them. I’ve tried cold, wet washcloths and he doesn’t like them. What else can I do to help him? His sleeping pattern at night was two hours at a time before this and now he doesn’t want to sleep at all. I’m at my wits ends with the crying and I’m soooo sleep deprived I’m going crazy. Someone told me to give him a green onion because it numbs the gum but I’m kind of leary. Any suggestions at all?

honestly you don’t want to continously give your baby tylenol as it can really cause liver problems.

It does sound like your little one is teething. I recommend getting some ora-gel asap!
Anything frozen such as the icy pops that you don’t open but melt into the liquid form that they come in before you freeze. That should fit his mouth.

Also, Frozen apples or bananas cut up large enough (think long, thick strips that are the size of carrots) so that he can’t swallow it.

Try a soothing bath in the evening as well with the lavendar or vapors. That might help.

Are you sure that your baby doesn’t have reflux? Also, are you sure that he is getting enough to eat. If he is waking so often maybe he isn’t getting his fill. If you are breastfeeding talk with your doc about your milk production maybe it needs to be increased. Or maybe you can start introducing rice into his bottles.

Any baby shower ideas? ?
My best friend aka (Sister-4-Life) is having a baby due in April…she’s a teen mother, and we as her bestest friends are planning to give her a “surprise” baby shower. However we need more ideas…I have few planned here they are…
1. Select a theme for the shower….she likes Bratz and she is 15…..
2. Create your own decorations. place a framed photo of the parents-to-be on the gift table for a personal touch. Be sure to provide the mother-to-be with her own special chair next to the gifts and mark it by tying Balloons at the entrance.
4.Make a memorable centerpiece, Diaper cake or A stuffed animal in a basket with baby stuff surrounding it.
5.Decide on the menu. It can simply be cake and punch, chicken wings, Finger foods, sandwiches, fruit or fresh vegetable tray, Nachos and dip, chips n dip, assorted cubed cheeses and crackers, chicken salad, cookies, deviled egges. pasta salad.
6.Plan a variety of games: Some more active games are “Baby Hot Potato” where you pass a baby doll around a circle while you play a lullaby. Whoever is holding the baby when the music stops is out. Keep going until one person is left. Or “Diaper a Doll while Blind-folded.” All you need is a doll, a diaper and safety pins and a dark blind-fold. “Baby Bottle Drink-off” is a hilarious game.”
7.Gift Ideas for the mommy-to-be a thermometer, pacifiers, bottle, formula, liners (depending on the bottles preferred by mom), nail clipper kit, washcloths, hair brush and comb, travel bag dispenser that gives you a small bag to put dirty diapers into, a new outfit, burp cloth, nasal aspirator, a few diapers, and wipes. Johnson&Johnson also makes a take along pack that has travel size sampling of shampoo, desitin, lotion, powder, baby wash, and a soothing naturals nourishing lotion. Photo Album.
Make a coupon book good for:
•Whenever you need a baby sitter
•1 afternoon babysitting

•1 evening babysitting

•1 afternoon of errand-running
Baby tree- Make something that could hold money for the new born baby

What do you all think, are there anymore ideas for the theme, food, decorations, and how to set it up well for the surprise. I was thinking of holding it at our school in the commons area. Over by that way its a cafeteria where she can go and she will not see anything. That way they can make their way down that trail and then she will open her eyes and see what we have planned.

I like baby animal themes – then there is a lot of room for you to make your own games, decorations. there is also a guessing game where everyone guesses how big around they think the mother-to-be is at the largest part of her belly. I’m giving you a link below that has lots more baby shower ideas (even recipes for food and stuff).
