I need to know can you wash a newborn baby with”Jhonson baby soap”?
my boyfriend’s mother told him that he can’t wash a newborn up with ”Jhonson baby soap” because it’s too strong, you have to use wet wipes, and he can’t wash there belly button. I said we can because the soap is for babies, and we can wash them up but you just can’t wash there belly button until it falls off and then we can give them a bath.
Heck yes you can…didn’t they tell you that at the hospital? I wouldn’t use wipes…it could give the baby a rash if they are scented. Ya, don’t wash the babies belly button….just wipe around it with a clean warm wash cloth. First rule don’t ever listen to ur boyfriends mom! Ask ur Doctor….
What soap can you use on a six month old infant w/ sensitive skin?
We have tried all of liquid johnsons baby soap but he still has red patches on his skin after a bath? Is there another soap that I could use. I have also tried cetaphil but it does not work. Thought abt using dial basics but we have hard water hear and it would cause soap scum in the water while I am bathing him. Any advice on what i should do.
yes use aveno or aveeno cant remember how you spell it, its for baby with eczema (skin rash) and babies with sensitive skin, its the best brand out there for this, get the unscented one, if the red patches still occur could it be the formula? but i know this soap is good, a little pricey but it works good, they also have aveno lotion for babies… hope this helps, good luck! oh and to fix the hard water problem use baby oil while taking him a bath, it softens the water and makes his skin smooth.. :)
My hedgehog ate baby soap.?
It’s just a simple tear free baby soap I was giving him a bath and suddenly he started to drink the soapy water. Just wondering how dangerous that is for his tummy. Should i give him some bread or something?
Thanks for the help,
Melda
He’ll be fine, but make sure he drinks plenty of water so it can flush out the soapy water inside his tummy.
Question about Dr. Bronner’s Mild Baby Soap in eyes.?
My little boy was taking a bath about 4 hours ago and got a little bit of soap in his eye…I didn’t see any soap, but he was crying and squinting his eyes. I rinsed his eye a little bit….but, you know how that goes with a baby…he didn’t willingly hold his eye open for me or anything, so I splashed water on it basically…anyways, it’s still red and irratated. Has this happened to any of you? On the bottle it said to rinse well with water for 15 minutes and if irratation persists to call the Dr.Does 4 – 5 hours count as persists? Or should I wait until the morning? Thanks ladies!!! Also, his eye has a little glaze look to them….is that normal? Or is it due to the soap getting in them?
Im sure that he will be fine. Maybe you should put a cool compress over his eye just incase. If it still looks red in the morning than you can contact you doctor and ask for more advice. Ohh and when you tried to rince his eye, maybe an eyelash got in there somewhere and that what is causing him the pain. Check his eyes good for any eyelashes etc and try to put some cool compress on it that should help him. Take care and dont give up!!!!
Is this baby rash from bar soap or heat rash?
Today my 10 month old son woke up from his nap with a bumpy red rash on his face, his neck, and his upper body (not his legs). The only thing I did differently today was when I gave him a bath, I used Lever 2000 bar because I ran out of the regular baby soap that I use. The bar soap was new out of the box.
My mother, who always insists that I put too many blankets on him when he sleeps, thinks that it’s a heat rash instead. But I’ve been doing that since birth, and he’s never had any negative side effects like this before. It’s been a pretty humid couple of days, like in the upper 70s.
So what is the likelihood that it is bar soap vs. heat rash? Both of us need peace of mind, and this sort of information is hard to just Google.
All babies have different preferences, anonymous. Not every child follows the textbook example of “what should be”. Several babies that I know, including my own, like the feel of a blanket against their face as they sleep.
i would say its the soap, try washing him with just warm water see if it calms down or put some camoline lotion on to soothe his skin :)
Do you double the amount of detergent in a traditional washer if you buy HE detergernt or just the sa?
I have a traditional washer and my retailer only stocks dreft baby soap in the HE do I have to use more or just use the cup provided and the amount the bottle says
HE detergent is meant for a front loader. That’s what I have to get. It makes less suds and won’t clog and more environmentally friendly. Use the same amount. Roxanne
