Did you know baby shampoo has formaldehyde in it?
Look up the ingredient QUATERNIUM-15 and see all the products this dangerous chemical is in. It’s shocking.
Yup. That’s why I use organic. No SLS, no Quaternium-15, etc. Check out what else has Quaternium15 too…

Is it better to use flea shampoo or baby shampoo?
My kitten is only 8 weeks and I found a flea on him. My neighbor has a few kittens that were my kittens siblings. She combed him and didn’t find a flea, but said she found a lot of eggs. I read on one of the questions that dawn isn’t very likely and is dangerous. My pet loving aunt said baby shampoo. I want to know if it is just as sure to kill them as the shampoo is. I want to get a collar just to make sure but I am a little worried about the chemicals it may have. Please help me I don’t want him to suffer from the itching and don’t want him to get infested and have to get them out of my furniture and carpet. Help me please♥
The best thing is to get Frontline or Advantage from your vet to treat the fleas & protect your kitten for the next 4 weeks.
Do NOT purchase a collar as they are useless and can cause more harm than good. There have been many reports of chemical irritations from the collars.
How to measure ketchup pH?
would it possible to determine th pH of ketchup using the pH paper, medicine dropper ?
Which of these might be considered a very dangerous chemical in a household with babies or small children?why?
Aspirin
Bleach
Vinegar
Shampoo
Ammonia
Dishwasher detergent ( by the way, anyone knows what the pH of diswasher detergent is?)
Alka-seltzer
what’s alka-seltzer anyway? and what’s the pH of aspirin? is it acid?
to me I think bleach is “most” dangerous one. because it’s too basic…
Yes. pH paper. Amonia is a strong base, which makes it dangerous with it fumes and its content.
4month Staffy Major skin inflamaition?
My pup started developing inflamed and itchy skin not long after his very first walk on my local field.
The vet gave him tablets, skin scraped for mites but came up with nothing. The tablets didnt seem to have much effect. I considered anything that might have changed since his walk. Fabric conditioner had, so I stopped using that. We’d changed his food over to Pedigree Puppy after i’d realised i’d been feeding him the wrong stuff (Prize Adult food), so I decided to change that to a hypoallergenic one instead so chose Wainwrights puppy 0-1yr….
For a short time the condition seemed to be weakening after the food was changed. I introduced the pedigree puppy tinned meat back into his diet, and the condition seemed to flare SLIGHTLY so i stopped again…
He was advised baby scratch mittens and a puppy t-shirt to stop him scratching his teats badly since they were becoming inflamed however I cant get him to keep the mittens on, t-shirts havnt arrived yet.
Now, several weeks later his skin is suddenly looking a LOT worse. Thick ‘mouldy black’ looking patches had formed under his armpits although these have faded away in the past couple of days, even the sudocrem doesnt seem to be easing him much any more. We’ve bathed him in tea-tree shampoo, johnsons coal tar shampoo and johnsons baby shampoo… also we’ve tried oatmeal bath (this DID work well but cant be used enough times).
I’m at a loss of what to do. Going to call the vet tomorrow to make an appointment. I’m only pleased any allergy testing (£300 for it) will be covered by Pet Plan as I havnt got that kinda money at the moment…. However i’m hoping someone on here might have had a staffy with similar issue and found the cause.
EDIT: also, i stopped using any human/chemical sprays as best as i could or at least well away from him or his bed/toys etc, and also, i’ve read about staffies often being prone to ‘clover grass allergy’ and thinking about it, there is a LOT of clover around my area, however…. he’d been in the garden several weeks before the problem started and there is clover in my garden.
I do however have Honeysuckle, something that is dangerous to dogs but seemingly only when eaten (which my pup doesnt do anyway), and also bluebell type flowers… maybe these could be the issue but I have no way of getting rid of them as they seem to automatically grow back
Please help =(
He’s a staffy…. (Staffordshire Bull Terrier)
Yeah we’ve considered hot spots, but no-one’s given me any advice on what to do aside from what we’re already doing which doesnt seem to be helping much if at all =(
